Log in to your Mailinblack personal space and go to the Management section.

Click on the Directory Synchronization tab and then on Add Synchronization.

Fill in the information regarding the connection to your LDAP directory:

  • Connection Name: This will be used to differentiate one LDAP configuration from another if multiple synchronizations are set up.

  • Establish connection via SSL/TLS encryption: This option configures the synchronization as LDAPs to secure the remote connection.

  • Accept digital certificates, including self-signed ones: By enabling this option, the Mailinblack server will no longer validate the certification of the Certificate present on your IT directory.

  • Referral: The referral option allows the use of a directory that has entries linked to other directories.

Next, enter the connection parameters:

  • Provide the server name or public IP where your directory is located.

  • Port: The default ports are 389 for an LDAP connection and 636 for LDAPS. You will need to open the connection to this port for the public IP ranges of your Mailinblack solution.

  • Specify the user who will have visibility over the entire directory, along with their password.

Finally, you can enter secondary connection parameters and/or click Next to proceed to the second step.

Configure the users to synchronize

This step involves configuring the users to be synchronized.

Click on Browse to select the base DN on which the synchronization will be based.

It is possible to configure a synchronization filter to only retrieve a specific type of Object (User, Groups) or to only retrieve accounts belonging to a group.

Select the nodes/elements to synchronize:

Configure your synchronization

This menu gathers the synchronization options and the mapping of synchronized fields:

  • Synchronization limit rate: This threshold corresponds to the percentage beyond which we will not allow the deletion of accounts via synchronization.

  • Synchronization of disabled accounts: Enable synchronization of disabled accounts in the directory.

  • Conversion of local accounts: Users in the directory whose email address already exists on Mailinblack will be synchronized.

  • Update user licensing: When this option is enabled, license management for users is done exclusively from the synchronization menu.

You can add up to three synchronization frequencies using the Add an additional synchronization option.

Modifying the field mapping allows you to change the attribute in your directory associated with the field in Mailinblack. It is possible to add mappings beyond those provided by default.
