1. Automatic vault locking
You can choose the length of time before your Sikker vault locks automatically.
This option is accessible from your MySikker space, in the interface settings, in the "Security" section, then "Vault Lock".
By clicking on "Modify", you can select the auto-lock duration, from one minute to two weeks.
Please note: if you select a duration greater than 11 hours, the PIN Code option will no longer be available..
2. Déverrouillage par code pin
To ensure the security of your data, all information stored in our password manager is encrypted using your master password.
Please note: the vault must be unlocked at least once with the master password before the PIN code can be used for unlocking.
2.1 How to activate the pin code
The PIN code can be requested if the delay before the automatic locking of your vault is less than 12 hours.
In the settings of your MySikker interface, you can activate the PIN code from the "Security" tab, then "PIN code":
Click on Activate and enter your 6-digit code:
At this stage, you will be asked for your master password to finalize the creation of the PIN code:
2.2 How does pin code locking work?
When you log in for the first time, you'll be asked to enter your master password. This step generates and stores, in encrypted form, specific information in your browser. This information is used to simulate entering the master password when you log in later.
For 12 hours following this initial entry :
You can access your vault simply by using your PIN code.
The PIN code decrypts the information stored locally on your browser, unlocking your vault without having to re-enter the master password.
After 12 hours :
For security reasons, you will be asked to enter your master password again.
This step renews the encrypted information stored on your browser for a further 12 hours.
